Role:
The mission of Sales is to facilitate the transition from prospect to customer by educating qualified prospects on how MuniBilling’s solutions will improve their utility billing operations. Sales Account Executives collaborate with the MuniBilling Solution Engineer, Sales Manager, and service delivery managers across the organization to formulate strategic solution plans specific to each engagement.
The Sales Account Executive contributes to MuniBilling Value Proposition by:
- Being the strategic representative for MuniBilling to create and grow long-term trusting relationships with prospects by asking strategic questions to uncover prospect needs, showing and explaining to them through stories and demonstrations how to improve operational efficacy using the MuniBilling product and professional services to solve their business challenges.
- Identifying and effectively navigating the desired value fulfillment within prospective organizations from the perspective of each key stakeholder’s job role by qualifying and quantifying the gains they want to achieve and the pains they want to eliminate.
- Manage the lifecycle of each opportunity, from prospect to presentation and proposal to contract agreement.

Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with the Solution Consultant and Sales Management to innovate ways to show clients how to maximize and improve operational efficacy using the MuniBilling product and related professional services.
- Create long-term trusting relationships with clients by showing and helping them maximize the value of the MuniBilling product and professional services to streamline business operations, reduce expenses, and improve insights to make more effective assessments and timely decisions.
- Identify, qualify, and quantify the desired value fulfillment from the perspective of each key stakeholder’s job role by verifying the gains they want to achieve and the pains they want to eliminate.
- Navigate the complexities of prospect organizations to build a profile for each type of contributory decision-maker: Initiator, Executive Approver, Economic Buyer, Influencer/Adviser, User/Evaluator, Champion/Advocate, and Gatekeeper.
- Secure statements of work or additional contracts where clients can benefit from MuniBilling professional services, including user training and Managed Services
- Collaborate with Marketing to create campaigns targeted towards specific incentive programs and go-to-market strategies.
- Develop and maintain forecast profiles and solution strategies using the MuniBilling CRM.
- Represent the company at trade association meetings to capture leads and present MuniBilling solutions.
- Identify strategic opportunities where MuniBilling can improve market presence and generate leads.
- Leverage MuniBilling 's unified communication platform and CRM to journalize your interactions using the appropriate communication method to prospect and engage via voice, video, email, text, and social media.
- Continually gather market intelligence to identify opportunities to improve competitive value differentiation and submit ideas through the MuniBilling Ideation process.
- Meet assigned revenue goals.
Competencies:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for formal business correspondence and presentations
- A strong passion for proactive prospecting, with a hunter mentality, focused on building and maintaining a robust sales pipeline through strategic outreach and relationship development.

Required Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent B2B experience selling SaaS usage-based billing solutions.
- One year of experience using an ERP/CRM type tool or commercial Helpdesk software application, such as HubSpot and Zen Desk
- Experience in multifamily property technologies or related industries.
- Experience intuitively demonstrates and explains how the capabilities of a complex software application resolve a prospect’s business challenges.
- Experience working collaboratively with client stakeholders in support of complex software applications
- Requires 40% travel
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Familiarity with the multifamily housing market, property management operations, or utility billing processes.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Understanding industry challenges, such as expense recovery, tenant management, and compliance.
- Adept at leveraging data to guide sales strategies and decision-making.
- Capable of identifying and capitalizing on opportunities in new markets or verticals.
- Technical Savvy to multi-task and navigate through various computer support systems such as CRM, Helpdesk, and enterprise-class billing software
- Experience leading complex B2B sales engagements that include RFPs, presentations, and system integrations. Experience with B2B Consultative Selling within the context of the Sandler Sales Methodology or similar sales frameworks.
