Position Title: Business Development Representative (BDR)

Reports To: Head of Sales
Revenue Based Compensation: 20% commission on all sales for OTPs (One Time Payments) and ARRs (Annual Recurring Revenue).

Job Summary:We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our sales team. The BDR will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth by identifying and qualifying potential clients, building relationships, demonstrating our value, closing deals, and maintaining client relationships for future upsell and renewal opportunities. This is a full cycle sales position and an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start or advance their career in sales within a high-growth startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Prospecting and Outreach: Identify and research potential clients in college, university, and community college PE programs, as well as other prep and adjacent programs.
- Lead Generation: Conduct outreach through a structured sequence of emails and phone calls to engage prospects and set up meetings.
- Qualification: Engage with prospects to understand their current admissions and enrollment processes, challenges, and goals.
- Discovery: Ask targeted questions to qualify leads and gather essential information about their needs and pain points.
- Scheduling Demos: Coordinate and schedule product demos with qualified leads for the sales team.
- Pipeline Management: Track and manage leads in the CRM, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Follow-Up: Execute follow-up campaigns for closed-lost opportunities and content updates.
- Collaboration: Brainstorm to refine outreach strategies and messaging.
- Data Collection: Work with the Head of Sales to gather and analyze data to determine the effectiveness of outreach and qualification processes.
- Feedback Loop: Provide insights and feedback to the Head of Sales to improve the overall sales strategy and product offerings.
Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field OR experience in higher education or education prep/adjacent programs is a plus but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing role is a plus but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent phone and email etiquette.
- Ability to ask probing questions and listen actively.
- High level of motivation, persistence, and positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Lead all interactions with kindness, empathy, and a drive towards helpfulness.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Hubspot) is a plus.
- Mindset: Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
