Sickening Events is looking for a motivated and self-sufficient Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing team. As a key player in driving our expansion, you’ll be responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing deals with event organizers, nightlife venues, promoters, and other players in the live events space. This is a partially remote role with some travel required to meet clients, attend events, and build relationships in your local market.
We’re seeking someone with a proven track record in sales, an existing network in the events and nightlife industry, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of venues and promoters. You’ll thrive in this role if you’re entrepreneurial, self-directed, and eager to make a big impact in a fast-growing, queer-owned startup disrupting the ticketing space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage your existing networkand contacts in the events/nightlife industry to generate leads and close new business opportunities.
- Conduct outreach via phone, email, social media, and in-person meetings to qualify leads and pitch Sickening Events’ platform.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling or long-term partnerships.
- Represent Sickening Events at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the brand and expand your network.
- Collaborate with the internal team to refine sales materials, improve processes, and share insights about local market trends.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Required Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in software sales (preferably SaaS), with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding quotas.
- An established network of contacts in the events, nightlife, or live music industry within your local market.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a self-directed role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to track leads, opportunities, and pipeline activity.
- Availability to travel locally (and occasionally regionally) for client meetings, events, and industry conferences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience selling ticketing, registration, or event management platforms.
- Knowledge of the challenges faced by indie venues, promoters, and event organizers.
- Passion for the events industry and familiarity with the unique needs of the LGBT and queer community.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
